My primary driver for purchasing this was to elevate my MacBookPro’s camera to the right level for all of the video conferencing that I have been doing. I have both the fixed base and swiveling base. I find the the fixed base holds the laptop more securely when you have peripherals attached. The swivel base does nor have enough resistance and moves when typing. For me the fixed base is the Five Star version.
