The Universal Dock D6000 from Dell lets you connect your compatible laptop to 4K displays, a mouse, keyboard, and audio devices. Compatible with a wide range of PC brands and operating systems supported by DisplayLink technology, the Universal Dock D6000 can connect your laptop to up to three 4K displays simultaneously.
The dock comes equipped with three USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, an additional USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port with PowerShare technology, a USB Type-C port with PowerShare, an HDMI port, two DisplayPort video ports, a 3.5mm combo audio port, an audio line-out port, and a Gigabit Ethernet port.
The dock connects to your laptop via an attached USB Type-C cable that can transfer data, power, and video. The cable also includes an integrated USB Type-A adapter.

I like this docking station it has more than everything I would need to support dual monitors and a few other devices on USB. I only wish the connector cord that came with it was longer and could optionally plugin on the other side of the docking station to accommodate any setup config.

This universal dock offers the connectivity for your laptop that you are looking for with the ability to connect in a myriad of ways. It connects to your laptop either with USB 3.0 or USB-C, which means it’s future proofed for any future tech I may get! I love that it has the ability to support up to (3) 4K displays, or 1 5K display! It has video output for 2 displayport and 1 HDMI. I am using this with my Microsoft Surface Pro 5 via USB 3.0 and everything works flawlessly so far. I have hooked up my printer, an HDMI connected projector for a presentation, and of course my displayport 4K monitor when I want to work on a larger screen. It is so much easier to hook up the peripherals to the dock rather than trying to connect items to my laptop with hubs and cables. I think this dock is a better buy than other docking stations available on the market. Make sure to download the latest firmware to the dock before hooking up your external equipment! The instructions are in the box and I found updating it to be very easy, but I am pretty comfortable with technology. Great buy!

My personal preference for being able to “park” my laptop in a docking station aside, this docking unit is really good. Plug in the USB C cable and my desktop setup just works. It handles my ultra wide display port monitor, keyboard, mouse, Ethernet, and speakers perfectly. Plus it works just as well for the other laptops in the house. Good job Dell!

The dock works as advertised. It only supplies 60W of power which is not enough for my laptop which requires 90W. It’s a minor inconvenience that I have to have the laptop adapter plugged in as well which takes up space on the surge protector and I can’t just keep it in my travel bag. I have two monitors hooked up to the dock (+1 on the laptop so 3 all together), a keyboard, a mouse, & speakers. I did notice that if I used the USB-C cable to connect to my laptop & used the speakers connected to the dock, there was an intermittent popping noise through the speakers. Connecting the dock to my laptop by connecting the USB-C to the provided/connected USB adapter the noise goes away. I’ve also connected an additional hard drive and optical drive to the remaining USB ports and it worked fine as well. So the only issues I’ve come across is the sound issue while using the USB-C cable w/out the USB adapter on the laptop side.

Very handy to hook up at work for my laptop! No need to plug in monitor and keyboard every day risking breaking the ports.

I love that it is compact and for telecommuting from home during COVID-19 I have little space for a bunch of equipment. It works well with all the other attachments. I especially like the two HDMI ports to support two monitors since my work demands lots of real estate!

The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because I have to open my Latitude 5520 laptop to turn the system on. If I’m missing something about turning the system on please let me know.

I recently purchased a XPS 15 9500 and was suggested to purchase this dock by Dell on their website. This dock is incompatible with this computer model. It connects just fine, however, there is insufficient power to sustain both the dock and fully power the computer. Based forums I have read, the correct model should be the Dell Thunderbolt Dock – WD19TB.

I would but one with more USB ports if I could do it over again. This one just does not have enough to get the job done and I will need to buy a different one. But the quality is great other then that.

Amazing piece of technology. Definitely makes work smoother with the single connection to USB-C.

The box does not have a power button to turn your laptop on with the laptop closed and connected. Also, the USB ports struggle to work with dongles for wireless mouse/keyboard. This device could be much better
