The M525 Wireless Mouse from Logitech is a wireless mouse that offers both comfort and convenience. First, you can use it without being tethered by wires to your computer — feel free to surf the web, scroll through documents or click on pictures at your leisure from your couch or anywhere else. Since it employs 2.4 GHz technology, this provides speedy data transmission and virtually no delays or dropouts. To get started, plug the small Unifying receiver into an available USB port on your computer. If you want to, you can even connect up to six Unifying-compatible devices.
The M525 is made to enhance your productivity, starting with its micro-precise scroll wheel. Since it has more grooves, it will allow you to move more quickly when moving up and down on web pages or documents. The laser-grade optical sensor tracks over pretty much any surface, except for glass or mirrors.
Comfort is key when spending long hours at your computer, and the M525 excels in this department as well. It has an ergonomic shape with soft rubber grips that conform to your hand. You’ll be glad to know that you can use the mouse for up to three years before needing to change them, and there’s even a smart sleep mode to save power. Don’t worry about any unwelcome surprises, either — an indicator light lets you know when they’re getting low. The mouse is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems for cross-platform flexibility. And last but not least, the compact size of the M525 Wireless Mouse allows you to take it just about anywhere.

The mouse works as intended. I like how the little USB stores inside of the house for easy no hassle storage.

This, by far, is the best mouse I’ve ever had, which is one reason I now have 14 of them; a pair for each of four different computers, one each for two more computers, and four spares. This mouse is a perfect fit for my hand. Laptop mice are hard to find anymore (I despise touch pads and hate touch screens even more) and most are too small anyway. Regular mice feel like boulders to me. I like the loose scroll wheel many decry because it makes fast scrolling so easy. It took a little getting used to keep it from turning when wheel clicking but, now, I don’t even give it a second thought. Of course, there is the Unifying Receiver. It allows me to have multiple mice and keyboards paired up to one dongle; something huge considering the paucity of USB ports nowadays, especially on laptops. Its major downside is it is available in USB type A only. Many laptops now come only with USB type C ports. What I don’t like is Logitech still refusing to provide Linux compatible drivers for their products. Before discontinuing this mouse, Logitech never had a Linux compatible driver for devices that use the Unifying Receiver. That cost them a star. Adding insult to injury, Logitech no longer has even Windows and Mac OS compatible drivers for this mouse. Just because a product has been discontinued doesn’t mean there won’t be people who will still need drivers for it. That cost another star. There is a program, called Solaar, that can be used to pair up the mice to a Unifying receiver but it doesn’t allow one to program the wheel tilt buttons. I’m extremely disappointed that Logitech discontinued this mouse.

One of the buttons on my existing M525 lost contact. Visited Logitech to order a replacement. The color I wanted – black – not in stock. Did not want red or blue. Didn’t want Bluetooth or cord. The RF feature works perfectly on Macs, Windows, and is instant-on. Searched the web. Found that some vendors selling way above reasonable cost. Then, B-H. In stock. Ordered 10/31. Arrived 11/03. Great service. Great price.

Bought to replace a Logitech M325 wireless mouse. It’s not as compact as the 325, and at least at the start, it doesn’t slide over the surface as smoothly as the 325. I also think that it’s a bit harder to move the pointer as precisely as the 325. Overall, though, either is an excellent product, and preference should be based on price and whether you prefer a small mouse (325) or a nearly full-size mouse (525).

Works as advertised. Replaced an earlier version of this mouse that stopped working after years of good service.

The M525 is an excellent mouse. It is ergonomically very well fitting, the buttons effort is excellent and the materials feel to touch is superb. The tracking is good, the click is not too load. I have a slightly older version of M525 and this one feels more premium yet. I do not play games, so I can not comment how well it works there. Very highly recommended work mouse!

I’ve been using this mouse now, for IDK how long. I’ve the same mouse, for 3 (three) different laptops. I use this along with the K800 keyboard as well. Pairing, using one dongle for EVERYthing Logitech is awesome, in and of itself. Plus all buttons on mouse are programmable as well. I use this to model CG characters, assets and VFX as well as the obligatory PS (Adobe program line) and more!! I also have a Wacom which I can program the mouse to work with that, as well. Simply amazing, all-around, workhorse of a mouse. Will keep buying these as long as they make ’em. Battery life is also phenomenal. I use this nice, piece of equipment daily, for hours on end and change the batteries every few months++ or more. They last FOR-EVER. Two, little AA batts. Haven’t tried rechargeable batts. on this unit though, so cant speak on those. If y’all need an all around, programmable mouse THIS is it!!! Oh! And you can program the clicks to do different things, in different programs as well. Thought I’d add that. I HAVE tried others (even in the Logitech line) and have found this one to be of the fanboy variety… if you can’t tell that, already! Cheers and Wholeness!! : ) -EB

I am very unhappy with this mouse. I purchased it to go with my Logitech 800 wireless illuminated keyboard, which I am VERY happy with. They are supposed to work together with the same USB dongle which is plugged into a TESmart KVM; the keyboard works flawlessly, the mouse not so much. Constant enough freezing so that the mouse is practically unusable. I don’t know if/why the signal strength is any different from the keyboard, since they are physically together on the desk, but the mouse has been a big disappointment. I don’t know if it would work any better using the separate dongle plugged directly into the PC, but then it’s of no use to me on the other computers connected to the KVM.
