Equipped with a USB transceiver, the Wireless Desktop 3050 from Microsoft is a wireless keyboard and mouse combo that allows users to move up to 30′ away from their PC and still maintain a wireless connection. Its other features include a soft-touch palm rest with quiet keys, media playback controls, one-touch zoom, and customizable shortcuts. It also has Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 128-bit encryption, Microsoft BlueTrack technology, and rubber side grips on the mouse body.
The Wireless Desktop 3050 is compatible with Windows 10, 8, and 7, requires 150MB hard drive space for software downloads and updates, and includes 4 x AA alkaline batteries. It is protected by a limited 3-year warranty.

I have been using this Microsoft wireless keyboardmouse combo 3050 for several months now. I am on the Internet for some 10 to 12 hours daily. In some ways, I am just the right person to submit a product review for this great product as my laptop is only of the Intel Core 3 generation and my Internet service only offers me 28+ Mbps on the download and 5+ Mbps on the upload as that is all I pay for; however, with this 3050 model I rarely experience any lag in performance–usually only when the computer is engaging in updates! I have had other great Microsoft wireless keyboardmouse products; however, I believe without a doubt that this 3050 model has helped my now years old laptop to work better than it did when new! Perhaps a small thing; however, I really like the white trim accents on the outer edges of the keyboard and mouse. After so much use, I can honestly say that the battery life is also superior. I use a television as my monitor so my keyboardmouse USB Nano receiver is several feet from where I am positioned and even though I engage in fast data entry, again, I hardly ever experience interruptions. I opened my product review by indicating that this Microsoft 3050 keyboardmouse has more functionality than I need; however, that is due to my lack of understanding regarding how all of the keys on this item function–and there are so very many! B&H Photo Video provided super fast quality shipping and, as important, the keyboardmouse was protected with more-than-adequate air bag protection during the shipping process.

I honestly don’t know if this is the same as the 3000 model, but am assuming it’s a replacement. Have had two 3000’s and in both cases, the lettering disappeared from the most used keys in about 3 months. Microsoft replaced the first one, but my shipping costs to return it were just a little less than what it cost. They are refusing to replace the second one; but rather, recommended a new one that costs 21/2 times as much. This one appears to be the same, but can’t say how it’ll hold up. Just don’t believe that Microsoft’s so-called 3-year warrenty is worth anything. It’s not!

Got this to go with my wife’s new NUC. The dongle itself is half the size of the computer and the keyboard with wrist support dwarfs it! No on off switch for either the keyboard or mouse. In stead one is expected to attach the dongle to the underside of the mouse to shut it off and save battery. The target buyer is most probably a laptop user. Curser is jittery when the 3050 is used in proximity to other wireless keyboard/mouse combos. Were I to do it again I would pay more attention to the keyboard/mouse peripherals and could probably be lured elsewhere…

We are so pleased with these wireless keyboards and mice that we have purchased five sets, this is the fifth. Love the keyboard and so easy to set up. Insert the batteries and plug the device into your computer and your’re all ready to go. Love them!
