Description
The Platinum Tools EZ-RJ45 Cat 6 Connector and Strain Relief Combo Kit lets you quickly terminate up to fifty Cat 6 cables. The connectors are compatible with solid and stranded wires and have thru holes so you can easily verify the proper wiring order. To improve electrical performance, each connector pulls the cable jacket tightly in the back, reducing the distance between the wire twists and contacts. Furthermore, strain reliefs are included for securing the rear of the connector and maintaining the bend radius of the cable.

I was super excited to use these in my home remodeling. I ran a 1000 feet of ubiquiti cat 6 solid copper cable and wanted something that made termination easier. At first it was easy, until I started plugging things in. About half of them wouldn’t work because the you can’t cut the wires flush enough off the ends. Even with flush cutters. There’s still a little wire that will hit the back of the eithernet port on your devices pushing the connection off the contacts just enough so you won’t get gigabit, usually 10/100. I ended up just digging out some old connectors and even though they take a little longer you can get a good termination every time.
