The C49J890DKN 49″ 32:9 Curved 144 Hz LCD Monitor from Samsung is a CJ890-series super ultra-wide monitor designed to replace multi-monitor setups. Its 49″ 32:9 VA panel is essentially two 27″ 16:9 monitors stitched together without the bezels in between. With so much on-screen real estate, you can view large spreadsheets and easily multitask with PBP and PIP modes. Specs-wise, it features a 3840 x 1080 resolution, a 3000:1 static contrast ratio, a 300 cd/mÿ² brightness rating, and support for up to 16.7 million colors. Connect it to your systems via HDMI, DisplayPort, or the multi-function USB Type-C option, and then adjust its versatile stand to best fit your viewing needs. I had one of these Samsung 49 inch monitors and loved it when it worked. The screen is a thing of beauty to behold very immersive for games and acceptable sharpness for day to day office work. Unfortunately I had to part with it as the monitor was plagued by plastic cracking / pops caused by plastic expansion / contraction of the back panel, the monitor would do these every couple of minutes at random to the point where it drove me crazy. In addition it suffered by poor finishing as you could see the light coming through between the bezel and the screen similar to the issue that caused the newer G9 monitor to be recalled. I only gave it 3 stars due to the excellent support which after 2 months finally solved it for me, though I still wish Samsung put in the effort to sort out their quality control and design issues prior to launch.
