   I have purchased 6 of these drives, I am guessing that at such low price, these things are probably in the ‘disposable’ category. So far, none have failed. I really like the large capacity; I can put a ton of files in one temporarily. And the dual port is a huge advantage on the MacBook Pro, given the limited (4) number of USB-C ports in it.

   I recently bought one of the newer MacBook Pro models with only USB-C ports, so I shopped around to find a USB drive that would have compatibility with my old laptop as well as my new one. This does its job in that it can transfer files between the two devices, but it REALLY heats up. I transferred a pretty small folder of all word documents initially, then made some edits to a few documents on my new laptop, and when I ejected it, it felt like it had been left on top of a stove. Seriously that thing was HOT. Other than the heating problem, it doesnt seem to really have any issues, so if youre okay with that then this will be a good buy for you.

    The drive has a slide on the top to select which end, the USB A or the USB C, you want to insert. The slide should lock the end in place so it can be inserted into the device. On two examples of the drive, the lock did not hold and it became difficult to use the USB A adapter unless a finger held the slide in place while inserting. I returned both and am now using a different brand, better designed and better made. Disappointed by this San Disk product.
