The Tether Tools AeroTab Universal Tablet System L2 is the largest version in the AeroTab Series. The streamlined design ensures a secure fit on the corners of medium to large tablet. Engineered with a secure corner to corner diagonal brace, the AeroTab keeps a tablet’s screen, as well as all buttons, cameras, speakers and ports open and accessible. The tablet can be rotated and mounted in portrait or landscape orientation.
Once the tablet is placed in the diagonal extension, all you have to do is slide the non-slip, scratch proof padded corners onto the tablet for a tight fit. Using the circular bracket on the back, you can tighten the mount so the diagonal slide is locked in place and the tablet is securely resting in the AeroTab. Then simply attach the AeroTab bracket to the tripod, stand or arm of your choice and lock down for a secure mount.
The AeroTab L2 features a sliding design that will hold a tablet with a diagonal (corner-to-corner) length from 13.5″ to 20″ and it accommodates tablets up to 0.75″ in thickness. The collapsing design makes the AeroTab L2 compact and portable for easy travel. Plus, if you already have a protective case on your tablet, the AeroTab L2 will work with most existing protective enclosures as long as the dimensions fall within the above ranges.

I love this thing. I have a surface Pro 3 that I never thought about using to tether on shoots until I saw another photographer doing it. It works perfect and keeps the gear onsite minimal. It’s a little pricey for what it is, but I couldn’t imagine tethering onsite without it.

Tether Tools makes great products and this does what it needs to do and will be sufficient for most folks but the trouble with Universal systems is they may be okay for a wide variety of purpose but maybe not so good for a specific need. I need and want a rigid and sturdy bracket for an iPad Pro just as one would need and want a sturdy tripod head for their camera. This product holds the iPad securely (it won’t fall out) but it does not hold it rigidly so if one is tapping it to take a photo it shakes. Honestly I haven’t found the solution that I want but the IK Mic Stand Mount is better for my needs at nearly 1/3 the cost.
