New mac mini only has 2x USB 3 A ports and 4x USB 3 C ports. To connect all of your devices you need a hub. I found several hubs cause finder to lag and cause the mouse to skip. This one is especially bad.

I had a similar item that didn’t work well at all. This one seems to work fine and it’s so nice to be able to plug in multiple external hard drives at the same time. I do a lot of photography work .

Took it out of the box and plug it into my iMac, plugged my keyboard in one hub and a flash drive in another hub. Two out of four hubs used and my computer works perfect.

I ran out of USB ports on my old Mac, this solved my problem, does exactly what it is supposed to do.

I like the fact that this came with a power supply, but just for other users, plugging a Sony XQD into the hub did NOT work for me. I still have to plug it directly into my MBP. My other devices seem to work just fine with the hub, so I’m okay with it’s function.

Works well with low power draw USB units but fails to allow two 4 TB USB powered G-drives to operate simultaneously through the unit via the USB 3 port on my 2013 MacBook Pro (the left side USB port and the port with the most power). Is it possible that the G-drives draw too much power through the USB port, and that a powered USB port is necessary? Both drives can be read simultaneously but upon file transfer one or the other is dropped and large transfers are terminated.

Works perfectly. Great for expanding your USB connections
