Built with the power to handle small- to medium-sized business NAS environments and increased workloads to SoHo (Small Office and Home Office) customers, the 3TB Red Plus 5400 rpm SATA III 3.5″ Internal NAS HDD from WD is made for archiving and sharing, as well as RAID array rebuilding on systems using ZFS and other file systems in NAS arrays with 1-8 bays. This 3TB drive operates using a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, a 64MB cache, and a rotational speed of 5400 rpm, all of which help to ensure uninterrupted data transfers with a sustained rate of up to 147 MB/s. This drive also features high levels of reliability, with 600,000 load/unload cycles, <1 in 1014 non-recoverable read errors per bits read, error recovery controls, and 1 million hours MTBF. Also built into this drive are noise and vibration protection and WD’s NASware 3.0 helps increase system compatibility, allowing WD Red Plus drives to be more easily integrated with your existing network infrastructure.

Value per dollar is much higher than any drive I’ve ran before. Very quick to spin up and the price is beautiful indeed. Love my Reds.

Bought it during a discount, and no complaints on it. Works great in a NAS environment.

I ordered 4 of these drives for a NAS. As soon as I installed them in the NAS, two of them failed to be recognized and have to be replaced. Dead on arrival. The other two are fine, but my faith in these drives definitely took a hit.

Amazing drive that runs perfectly with any Synology or NAS server and is highly recommended by many producers, creatives and IT technicians for longevity of the drive! Must have for any NAS

I expect no less than problem-free operation and that’s what I’m getting with four of these WD Red Plus 14TB drives in my new Synology NAS DS920+ system. I also bought this fifth drive in the highly unlikely event that I should lose one of the four drives in operation :-).
