Transform a single USB 3.0 port from a notebook, tablet, or desktop into four USB 3.0 ports—with one performing double duty as a charging port—with the Powered USB 3.0 Slim Aluminum Hub from Xcellon. Each of the four ports is outfitted with USB 3.0 technology that enables it to transfer data at rates of up to 5 Gb/s. When used as a stand-alone hub, the one charging port delivers up to 2.4A of current for recharging tablets, smartphones, and other power-hungry devices. Furthermore, the hub is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 interfaces and supports a wide-variety of systems, including Windows, Mac, Chrome, and Linux.
When compared to the previous version, this Xcellon hub features a slimmer design as well as a redesigned power system, which provides a toggle switch and the ability to automatically turn on when the host computer is powered on or restarted. Moreover, the slim design and rubber treads allow the hub to stay upright while unplugging and plugging in USB cables.
Xcellon has constructed this 4-port hub of heat-dissipating aluminum and includes a dual-voltage power adapter for ensuring ample power flows to your USB-connected devices, while reducing the strain on the host system’s components. Aside from power, LED indicators are located next to each port, so you can see the power status of each individual USB port. There’s also an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-A cable and an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-C cable that lets you start using this hub right away.

Xcellon is the first USB hub I ever purchased that gave me no problem with any device whatsoever, including a back-up drive. Solidly built with great cords and cord length.

This device serves to connect musical equipment to a tablet pc so the powered aspect is critical. I can find no fault in performance or quality of build. No regrets in ordering.

I’ve been using this hub for a week without any problems. It’s heavier and more solid-feeling than some hubs — the case is metal. I prefer it that way so that it stays put when you plug things into it.

Got this to augment the limited interface with a new NUC. Solidly built and, at least to this point, fast and reliable. I like the slim form, the indicator lights, the USB 3.0 speed, the on/off switch and the power port. Next time I will probably get the larger version as it is already fully occupied.

When my Blue Yeti Nano mic would only work directly attached to my computer, not to either name brand powered USB-3 hub, I started looking. This hub appeared and reviewed as the real deal. I didn’t recognize the brand, enough reason for justifiable fear on Amazon, but B&H knows their stuff, so I bought two. The metal case is miniaturized quality on par with enthusiast stereo equipment. I like the on/off switch though I’ll never use it. The included cables for both USB-3 and USB-C computer ports are high quality and a nice touch. Many USB-3 hubs include high-powered ports that don’t support data. These Xcellon high-powered ports do support data. I was ready to return my Blue Yeti Nano mic, but I took it back out of its box for a test, and it worked flawlessly from an Xcellon high-powered data port. I fell in love with the mic, too, so I’m keeping everything. One should really look at B&H before/instead of Amazon. And Xcellon is a name brand now, just new on the block. They’ve really thought this hub through; it’s worth every penny.

I got this because I got tired of having to remove USB devices from my computer that has limited USB ports, so that I could plug in another device. I’ve only had this device for a few days. So far it is doing its job.

This device gives me lots of USB ports without needing to get under my desk to plug things in. And it works great as a phone charger too! Only downside is that you then have a mess of cables sticking up.

Works a treat, so far. Haven’t had it long, but it does what it says and seems solid. Not plastic. On/off switch gives a positive click. Lights next to the ports show up when something active is plugged in, and then don’t light up if something is plugged in but not on. Small thing, but helped me track down a bad cable. Lots of free ports on the computer now.
