It can sit vertical or horizontal, and storage can be expanded at a future time. Plenty fast for photos, though I have not tried it with videos yet. And if you do run all the software updates, you will have to go to the HP site and download a BIOS update for some of the more recent Microsoft features updates to install and work. Still, a decent machine for the money.

This computer has a lot going for it. Nice processor/case/power supply/pci slot. You get a decent keyboard and cheap mouse. Took 2.5 days of updates to get Windows up to speed, as others have indicated. Not what you want if you need it working when it arrives. Bigger issue was upgrading RAM. I wanted to go beyond 8GB given its Windows 10 and 2021. BH had a 16GB module listed as accessory. So ok, upgrade the RAM. Well it turns out that the machine really wants the RAM split into 2+ modules. Indicates reduced performance if you only have 1 module, especially for graphics. Manual says I should be able to add to the existing RAM (there are 4 slots), but I tried literally every combo and only the 16GB RAM alone would work. I don’t have the time to benchmark the 2x4GB vs the new 16GB. Machine runs OK, so Ill live with it. Final thing is that the machine has no HDMI, just Displayport. I actually prefer Displayport, but what cheap monitor has Displayport? Certainly none of mine. So in goes an extra graphics card…

I just wish the USB3 ports were in front where they would make more sense. Otherwise I have not hit the edge of the performance envelope with it.

I bought this workstation for the great specs, but HP crammed it into a case that doesnt breathe, and gave it a CPU cooler that couldnt keep a 2700X cool under load if it was outside in Antarctica. CPU runs at 95C at idle. Theres also no place to install additional cooling so you cant get this and an AIO water cooler to make things work. Stay away from this machine.
